Coke oven gas hydrogen production and LNG solution

South-North Gas Transportation

On November 4, 2019, at 17:30, a cargo ship carrying 130 liquefied natural gas (LNG) tank containers successfully departed from Yangpu Port, Hainan. This was China's first large-scale maritime transportation of LNG tank containers. This project is a pilot project approved jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission, Energy Administration, and Ministry of Transport to innovate LNG transportation methods. It was the first attempt to transport surplus capacity from Hainan receiving station to northern regions on a large scale by sea, which is of great significance for meeting the clean heating demand in northern regions in winter and ensuring gas supply security.
