South to North Gas Transportation

At 17:30 on November 4, 2019, a cargo ship carrying 130 LNG tank containers left from Yangpu Port in Hainan, marking the first time that LNG tank containers were used for large-scale transportation at sea. This project is a pilot project jointly approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, National Energy Administration, and Ministry of Transport, aiming to explore the first attempt of transporting the surplus capacity of Hainan receiving station to the northern region through sea transportation, which is of great significance for meeting the heating demand in the northern region and ensuring gas supply safety.
